Job Summary:  The Sales Representative is responsible for driving the sales and execution of our brands in Uganda. Working with the sales and distribution team, the Sales Representative is responsible for ensuring that the sales team are clear on how they should execute our brands in every type of outlet, ensuring that the sales team have the necessary support materials (sales stories and sales aids), POSM and brand knowledge to deliver volume, net sales and other related executional targets. The Sales Representative will also monitor and report execution to the COMPANY Marketing team and suggest activities for increasing volume and execution in outlet.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Equipping the sales team with the relevant sales aids and equipment.
  • Training the sales team to be knowledgeable about our brands.
  • Training the sales team to understand what makes great ‘everyday’ execution of our brands.
  • Ensuring that outlets are audited and execution measured on a weekly basis.
  • Removing issues and roadblocks that prevent the sales team from meeting our volume and other targets.
  • Understanding the demographics, challenges and opportunities within their region such that execution of initiatives and activities can be tailored to be more successful.
  • Ensure the BTL agency execute all activities as per plan and monitor that high standards of execution are upheld.
  • Monitor and report on competitor activity
  • Managing the day-to-day relationship with the BUL sales team in their region such that our brands are given a fair share of voice and attention.
  • Supporting the development of the marketing strategy for UGANDA in accordance with the COMPANY business strategy.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or similar.
  • At least three years’ experience within FMCG sales.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  • Building constructive relationships with external partners.
  • Sets high standards of performance for him/herself and others.
  • Gets things done on time and without compromising quality.
  • Is collaborative in his/her approach to their team, peers and others.
  • Possesses a high-energy level and a passion for making a difference.
  • Maintains a high standard of ethics, both professionally and personally.
  • Is fair, reliable and trustworthy.
