The ICRC is an International humanitarian institution which has a mandate to protect victims of international and armed conflicts i.e. the wounded, refugees, civilians, prisoners and other non-combatants.
Job Summary: The WASH Network Relationship Officer to Austrian Red Cross will be responsible for continuous community engagement and day-to-day management of a regional WASH network that is set up as part of a large WASH-related program. The position holder will be responsible for champion programme-wide knowledge sharing, using a web-based knowledge and communication platform so that the know-how, information and experience generated within the areas of the programme is shared across the WASH network, foremost with Red Cross and Red Crescent partners, and relevant external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for rigorous documentation and communication of the evidence of the programme’s impact within and beyond the WASH network.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares and undertakes a stakeholder and network analysis to identify key stakeholders to involve in the network;
- Undertakes continuous community engagement with individual specialists, member organizations and other networks;
- Administers a web-based knowledge and communication platform;
- Ensures that all files with relevance to the network are up to date;
- Actively searches for new members in all East African partner countries;
- Establishes new connections with other networks in the area and liases with them;
- Monitors and shares relevant information such as good practice and exchange opportunities from other projects or relevant funding opportunities;
- Liaises with Austrian Red Cross and reports to the programme management team about network activities and
- Supports critical knowledge flow within and across network stakeholders and knowledge domains.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) WASH Network Relationship Officer to Austrian Red Cross job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in communication or Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences with post graduate in Mass communication from a recognized institution; He/she should be familiar with social research methods;
- At least three years’ experience in a similar position;
- Work experience with a donor-funded institution will be an added advantage;
- Proven project and knowledge management skills;
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative research: experience with network analysis will be advantageous;
- Full computer literacy with proficiency in the application of Office 365 suite, especially Sharepoint and Teams;
- Proficiency in online communication and social media platforms;
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills; ability to compile and assimilate content in short time frames;
- Proven project management skills, particularly around assessing priorities and managing workloads;
- Ability to work across different actors, cultural contexts, technical areas and bridge silos within the organization and with external partners;
- Strong demonstrated skill working with external partners and bringing several stakeholders together for a common goal;
- Ability to work independently and across multiple portfolios and subject areas at the same time;
- A proactive approach to work, the ability to handle multiple tasks and to maintain a high quality standard when working under time pressure;
- A mature personality of high integrity with great team working skills, a courteous attitude and a clear sense of confidentiality;
