About US:
Uganda Women’s Effort to Save Orphans (UWESO) is a National Non-Government organization which was founded in 1986 by Ugandan mothers committed to providing relief aid to needy children left parentless by the civil turbulence of the mid-1980s and the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Its vision is to have “a society where all children live a full life “and a mission to” promote survival, development, participation & protection of orphans& vulnerable children in Uganda.”
About Project:
General Food Assistance and Nutrition in Refugee Settlements is a World Food Funded Project and will be implemented by Hunger Fighters in Consortium with UWESO in Oruchinga, Nakivale and Kyangwali refugee settlements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for data management, tools development, collection, entry and analysis.
- Ensure that a beneficiary accountability mechanism is in place and utilized.
- Prepare and submit bi-weekly and monthly reports.
- Ensure proper filing of project documents and reports.
- Conduct routine monitoring, spot checks and follow-up of project activities.
- Responsible for managing, recording, sharing, following up and consolidating community feedback about UWESO interventions and ensuring community feedback is fed back into the project cycle management.
- Work closely with the programme and monitoring & evaluation team.
- Assist the post-distribution monitoring.
- Ensuring data quality by; participating in field pre-testing of data collection tools, monitoring & evaluation tools are well administered according to set guidelines.
- Ensuring the provision of general assistance to the monitoring & evaluation unit to ensure smooth execution and implementation of various activities of the monitoring & evaluation unit focusing on achieving the following results.
- Perform any other duties incidental thereto and/or a may be assigned by the Head of Program
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a University degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Information & Computer Systems Management, or related qualification.
- Additional training in monitoring & evaluation is an added advantage.
- One year of experience in an NGO preferably in a humanitarian setting while handling monitoring & evaluation.
- Ability to receive and handle confidential and sensitive information (highly approachable, trustworthy and confidential).
- Proficiency in the use of productivity suites such as MS Office i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Proficiency in the use of data analysis tools such as SPSS, EViews.
- Fluency in English both written and verbal.
