Job Summary: The Logistics Officer holds the primary responsibility of carrying out the logistics monitoring and coordination functions including transport, warehousing, asset management, and maintenance reporting of any incidents that may arise immediately to the Logistics coordinator
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific Responsibilities
- Ensure proper fleet management and vehicle utilization at the area office
- Ensure that assets are properly managed and tracked at the area office
- Ensure proper management of inventory and documentation
- Draft and submit end of month logistics reports to the line manager
- Supervise and give guidance to the drivers
General Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures and donor requirements
- Conduct and follow up daily operational logistic activities
- Support in development of Standard Operating Procedures as requested
- Ensure proper filing of all Logistics related documentation
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the logistic function
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Logistics Officer job must hold a Bachelor’s degree in procurement/logistics or equivalent
- Possession of CIPS qualification will be an added advantage
- At least two years of experience from working as a logistics officer; exposure in a humanitarian context is an advantage
- Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal
