Our investments generate desired financial returns for our Funds Under Management while also creating significant social impact as pre-agreed with the Fund Investors. PCP Uganda Ltd (‘PCP’) has deployed and managed agri-focused portfolios of SME companies in East and Southern Africa over the past 14 years.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deal sourcing: Originate transactions of interest to the company (having both financial and social impact) through an active and structured industry focused deal sourcing strategy and networking abilities.
- Deal evaluation: Evaluate opportunities for investment, manage due diligence processes, assess investment risks and business plans appraisals
- Deal execution: business valuations, development and reviewing of investment documents, structuring and negotiating terms and management of parties involved through to completion of investment deals
- Post investment: Provision of management advisory and business development services to investees and development/implementation of post – investment action plans while maintaining relationships with SMEs
- Marketing and public relations for the Pearl group and Yield Fund Uganda.
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Managing Partner
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- An East African national with a post-graduate qualification in finance, business administration, economics, management, agri-business, banking or other relevant business management discipline
- A minimum of 3 years professional experience in PE/VC investment management or agri-business management or relevant experience in a similar capacity at senior management level of an SME business or financial institution with frequent interface with small and growing businesses
- The ability to manage confidential information and develop trusting, long-term relationships with business partners and stakeholders at various levels
- Strong team player, work ethic, analytical competence, leadership and report writing abilities
