About US:
The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) was established to implement the provisions of The UCC Act 2013 Laws of Uganda with a principal goal of developing a modern communications sub-sector and Infrastructure in Uganda, in conformity with the operationalization of the Telecommunications Policy.
Job Summary: The Officer Competition & Pricing will undertake and prepare comparative analysis of tariffs, undertake cost studies, collect, and maintain an up to date inventory of service, undertake competition investigations in the broadcast and multimedia and Telecommunications markets
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To undertake and prepare comparative analysis of tariffs through print and electronic channels.
- To collect and maintain an up to date inventory of service and product tariffs in broadcast, telecommunications and post within Uganda and outside Uganda.
- To undertake competition investigations in the broadcast and multimedia and Telecommunications markets.
- To undertake regulated service test buys and mystery purchases in order to ascertain tariff transparency and consistence with advertised/approved rates.
- To analyse tariff applications, reports, financial records and cost studies, and make appropriate recommendations and assess the licensee liability obligations as well as customer claims and concerns in the market.
- To undertake regular regional and international service benchmarks to guide policy and other service reviews.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) Officer Competition & Pricing job placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, accounting or a closely related field;
- At least two years of experience in analysis of utility rates, economics in similar corporate setting
