Job Summary: The Communications Manager will lead the communications function and implement the company’s communications strategy. The communication manager will act a focal communication and spokesperson for the company for internal and external audiences, including handling media inquiries to ensure accurate information is disseminated to internal and external audiences in a timely manner.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other teams to identify the public voice of the brand
- Create style guides and brand voice outlines for all public relations, marketing, advertising and other vital departments
- Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or crises
- Draft press releases and speeches following organizational news
- Write letters, interdepartmental memos and other business correspondence
- Communicate with media outlets and journalists and create press kits
- Develop materials to educate staff on communication practices
- Coach and assist team members on improving communication skill
- Perform communications research and monitor the progress of various communications strategies
- To act as a focal communications person and spokesperson for the company for internal and external audiences, including handling media inquiries;
- To ensure accurate information is disseminated to internal and external audiences in a timely manner in order to drive the overall company objectives;
- To manage PR and advertising relations with media houses and social media platforms;
- To supervise department staff and ensure a high degree of service and satisfaction, including regular monitoring to address challenges and crises as they emerge.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- The applicant must hold an advanced degree in journalism, media and/or public relations;
- Five or more years of hands-on public relations experience,
- Strong language skills, vast networks in local media industry; ability to communicate clearly and articulately on different platforms. Other
- A mature team player able to work well under pressure and under minimum supervision while paying attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Hands-on public relations experience, including knowledge of social and digital media platforms.
- Experience in media buying and executing communication strategies.
