Job Summary:   FCA is seeking to hire qualified and experienced Principal who will be supporting the implementation of Skills training for the Refugees and Host communities’ children in Rwamwanja refugee settlement. We invite Suitable   applications from potential candidates to fill the following position.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide visionary leadership, strategic direction, and effective management of the TVET Centre to ensure the delivery of high-quality vocational education programs.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of vocational training programs tailored to the needs of both refugee and national learners, fostering skill acquisition and employability.
  • Ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment by implementing policies and practices that promote student welfare, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Recruit, supervise, and support a diverse team of instructors and administrative staff, fostering a collaborative and professional work culture.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with local communities, stakeholders, government agencies, and NGOs to enhance program visibility, partnerships, and resource mobilization.
  • the budget effectively, ensuring efficient utilization of resources and compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, facilities, and services, implementing improvements as necessary to maintain high standards of quality and relevance.
  • Advocate for the importance of vocational education and the rights of refugee and national principle. learners, representing the TVET Centre in relevant forums, networks, and meetings.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree/ in Education from a recognised institution, a postgraduate diploma in vocational training will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of a Diploma in Secondary Education from a recognized institution/University for English teacher.
  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in technical education
  • Experience working with DIT, Uganda private sector.
  • Must be registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports
  • Professional computer skills; MS Word, Excel, internet, and emails etc
  • Excellent people management skills
  • The ideal candidate should have good organisational, listening skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills to deal with a range of staff issues.
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • The incumbent must be a team builder, who is able to work successfully in a multicultural environment.
  • Experience working in a refugee setting is desired
