SPOUTS is a Limited company operating within Uganda that manufactures and distributes ceramic water filters with a vision of providing access to clean and safe drinking water for all Ugandans.
Job Summary: The accounts Assistant will support the operations of the Accounting & Finance functions, the Accounts Assistant provides operational and administrative assistance by performing a variety of administrative, information management, coordination and Record keeping services.
Works in collaboration with all managers to ensure delivery of Accounting outcomes.
Special conditions some travel may be required between the SPOUTS head office and the factory at Nakawuka.
Key Duties And Responsibilities:
- Take part in providing a financial and accounting service to SPOUTS, including the maintenance of systems and processes, to support business decision making and ensure that SPOUTS meet all compliance requirements.
- Daily Petty cash management, i.e; disbursement, and recording the data in the accounting systems
- Raising and issuing non D2C invoices, in line with the company’s credit control policy and customer credit limits
- Receiving and recording cash payments at the Head Office, and thereafter banking and maintaining all supporting documentation for the cash received
- Managing and updating the daily meals records to ensure correctness at the end of each day
- Providing support towards filing statutory tax obligations as and when delegated by your supervisor
- Provide support in receipt of D2C and other customer payments that may come through the MM platforms
- Assist in Stock management tasks, and participate in month end stock counts at various locations as delegated by the supervisor
- Filing expense receipts and invoices
- Contribute to implementing and maintaining financial policy and planning processes.
- Monitoring the petty cash limits (through the petty cash system) of the various department heads and notifying once the limit is breached.
- Demonstrate corporate responsibility.

- Ability to follow guidelines and procedures
- Applies broad-based knowledge to manage projects, account for resources and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
- Attention to detail and data accuracy
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Demonstrated competency in data entry and word processing skills
- Experience using MS Office, databases and accounting software
- Aptitude for numbers and demonstrated record for accuracy and attention to detail
- Proven ability to coordinate processes and prioritise workload in an environment of multiple demands
- Able to seek clarification and use limited judgement for work that is less routine
- Works well in a multi-functional and multi-cultural team
- Proven record for honesty and accountability
- The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor degree in a financial discipline
- High level of competence in spoken and written English language skills.
