About US:
Tunga Nutrition Uganda Limited is a joint venture business of Nutreco BV and Unga Group Plc. Established in March 2022, the business distributes animal nutritional products from the parent companies and is currently building a state-of-the-art animal feed and concentrate production facility at Plot M229, factory close in the Ntinda Industrial area of Kampala, that is due to start operations in Quarter 3 of 2023. The feed production facility will be tapping into local input supply chains to produce the famous Hendrix brand of concentrates and animal feed.
Tunga Nutrition’s aim is to ‘Feed the Future’ and ensure that people in Uganda and the East African region at large, have equitable access to nutritious food by supporting farmers in producing animal protein (eggs, meat, milk) optimally and sustainably.
Job Summary: The Digital Communications Specialist will mainly develop and implement Tunga Nutrition Uganda Limited’s digital communications and content strategy in order to create and grow brand identity and visibility.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop proposals/approaches for the (commercial) communication or promotion of brands and products, on the basis of the established communication strategy and communication annual plans, or according to the briefing and action memos from clients, so that the marketing communication is arranged according to defined principles and requirements.
- Ensure the implementation of approved communication plans into action plans, communication products, and events, and for the realization thereof according to the established communication framework.
- Develop and execute TNUL’s digital communications strategy and content strategy
- Create and manage TNUL’s social media and online channels
- Develop and maintain a yearly communications and content calendar, working across the organization, partners, customers, etc, to gain input from stakeholders and to prioritize communications throughout the year.
- Monitor, analyze, and evaluate the organization’s reputation on the different owned channels and recommend optimal intervention scenarios in order to protect and drive the positive image and reputation of the organization.
- Follow up on the latest innovations in digital communications and communication formats to integrate them in the communications plan.
- Manage and collaborate closely with (content) agencies.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Degree in marketing, Communications, or a relevant field
- Experience in a similar role with a focus on digital content management
- Good knowledge of social media management
- Excellent copywriting skills
- Ability to work and think collaboratively across teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience using Canva or any other content creation too Preferable
- Knowledge of the Feed/Agricultural industry
- FMCG experience
- Web development an advantage but not essential
