Bachelor of Laws Entry Requirement at Kampala International University
For a student to qualify for the award of the LL.B Degree, such a student must obtain a Cumulative Grade Point (CGPA) of at least 2.0 and complete a total of 200 credits, each credit being equivalent to 15 contact hours per Semester. A student in the LL.B Programme shall not carry less than 25 credit units in a semester. A student is permitted to re-take a maximum of two courses or credit units.
A student shall take all the eleven and then ten courses prescribed in the first and second year of study respectively. In the third and fourth year of study, all students shall take all the core courses in addition to such numbers of elective courses as will make a total of ten courses for each year. In the fourth year of study, there shall be a core course designated as Research Paper, offered in the Second Semester of the final year (although it is introduced to a student in the 2nd semester of the 3rd year).
