Job Summary:
The Manager Central Reconciliation & Support will oversee the central reconciliation unit, ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of the bank’s suspense accounts. This role is integral in aligning the bank’s reconciliation operations with its business strategy, products, services, and technological advancements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all centralized bank reconciliation activities.
- Investigate, follow up, and clear outstanding items in suspense accounts.
- Monitor suspense accounts for irrecoverable amounts and make recommendations.
- Develop processes to improve service and customer satisfaction in reconciliation.
- Provide input for product setup and changes regarding account interface and reports.
- Define and monitor performance metrics for an effective reconciliations function.
- Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks in systems and business processes.
- Recruit and mentor the reconciliation team to foster a performance culture.
- Ensure timely submission of accurate end-of-month reports and returns.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or business from a recognized university.
- CPA, ACCA, or a master’s degree is an added advantage.
- At least five years of experience in managing reconciliations in a complex operation, preferably in the financial services sector.
- Knowledge of banking transaction processes and capacity management principles.
- Comprehensive understanding of controls and risk management.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency in data management and analysis.
