About US:

The International Community of Women living with HIV Eastern Africa is a regional advocacy network and membership based organisation.ICW Eastern Africa is run by and for HIV positive women. Our advocacy is based on evidence of our daily lived experiences to influence policies and programmes. We use participatory processes to ensure our work addresses the priorities of women living with HIV, including young women, from the grassroots.

 

ICWEA now plans to recruit a suitably qualified individuals of impeccable integrity and commitment to fill the following positions for the TASO/GF project;

 

Job Summary:  The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will take charge of the M&E systems and data management for the TASO/GF project and ensure effective provision of M&E services, management and utilization of resources in order for the project to achieve its strategic vision and that the activities result in the achievement of its intended outputs, outcomes and impact.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare periodic work plans and budgets for the delivery of M&E and data management services
  • Make regular Data Backups
  • Technically advise ICWEA management on proper and effective management of data and ICT equipment
  • Coordinate activities and ensure availability of logistical support to the M&E Systems towards the project
  • Supervise entry of service data at all levels
  • Offer technical support and training to data collectors and other end-users
  • Carry out routine data cleaning, validation, analysis and reporting
  • Carry out database administration of ICWEA servers
  • Make monthly submission of raw datasets to Management
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports on the information and data management activities of the project
  • Select, manage and acquire information (both hard copy and electronic) to meet the project’s current and anticipated needs
  • Conduct information and systems audits
  • Develop and manage electronic resources using, for example, online databases and content management systems
  • Develop and manage internal information resources and networks
  • Oversee the implementation of newly developed M&E systems at ICWEA
  • Provide training and advice to project teams, ICWEA staff, and members on the use of electronic information services
  • Provide overall supervision for the departmental staff
  • Do inhouse or other available trainings of project and IWEA staff in building effective M&E systems
  • Analyse and discuss findings based on regular monitoring data
  • Provide technical support on M&E and evidence-based recommendations to the relevant Project Coordinators.
  • Ensure that implementation of field activities adheres to ICWEA’s monitoring and evaluation system
  • Support ICWEA in designing and disseminating research studies by providing relevant input
  • Share learnings from M&E process with the wider team
  • Proactively participate in various program activities
  • Promote dissemination of lessons and knowledge sharing
  • Participate in research activities at ICWEA

  • Field/implementation staff effectively supervised

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate must hold a Degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics or Computer Science, Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Evaluation, Economics.
  • Four (4) years in data management preferably in health related position
  • Ethical issues in data management
  • Human Rights and Gender programming and considerations
  • ICT Skills

  • Computer Skills (especially Statistical and database packages, and programming)
