Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review the Master Operational Risk Policy to align with Bank of Uganda guidelines and Group standards.
- Implement bank-wide procedures for operational risk identification, measurement, control, and monitoring.
- Manage procedures for incident identification, investigation, analysis, and reporting, and maintain risk databases for losses, near-misses, and abnormal gains.
- Manage the Business Continuity and Crisis Management Plan, ensuring effective business resumption plans at corporate and departmental levels.
- Utilize risk management tools such as key risk indicators, risk & control self-assessment, risk dashboards, and heat maps.
- Guide on new business initiatives, products, and projects, recommending changes in controls and monitoring procedures.
- Train and coach staff on risk management, adhering to bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare operational risk reports for submission to relevant committees for risk oversight.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or science-related disciplines with a mathematical background.
- Professional Qualifications such as ACCA, CPAU, CIMA, ACIB, FRM, APRM, ACFE, and CIA are preferred. Candidates at mid or final levels may also be considered.
- A minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
