Job Summary: Solid Rock Life & Business (SRLB) is looking for experienced Pipefitter Instructors who will be responsible for the preparing and conducting training programs. Please note that this is a 6 months Consultancy.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials, in order to prevent injuries and damage
- Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by law, district policies, and administrative regulations.
- Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities in collaboration with basic skills instructor.
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
- Teaches the depth and scope of class materials as outlined in the syllabus and catalog and relates the instruction to careers and employer expectations
- Demonstrate, promote and require safety at all times.

- Position the weld set up, fit the piping and perform welds
- Managing training resources
- Ensure training materials, tools and equipment are safely stored after use by students
- Responsible for basic repairs of machines, tools and equipment while executing duties.
- Develop and Prepare appropriate training materials for efficient and effective delivery of the skills.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate should have five years of related working experience in industrial pipe fitting experience
- Degree/Diploma or Certifications (in a technical field)
- Relevant technical accreditations
- Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance experience
- Must understand how to read and interpret ISO’s, blueprints, construction drawings technical manuals and instructions to determine work procedures
- Must have ability to weld to a qualified procedure using SMAW (STICK) and GTAW (TIG)
- Ability to operate scissor lifts, fork trucks, boom lifts, lulls and other industrial equipment safely
- Must be able to work at heights in a safety harness
- Controlling operations of equipment or systems
- Controlling machines and processes by using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes
- Must be able to determine the appropriate tool or equipment needed for each specific task
- Performing general physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials
- Training/s in e.g. Job Safety Analysis, Work Place Fundamental Risks & Assessments, Manual Handling,
- Instructor Technical Training

- Experienced user of MS Office Toolset
