Kyagalanyi Coffee Ltd. (KCL), a leading coffee exporter and part of the Volcafe group, is recruiting for a Project Manager to oversee the implementation of sustainability projects in their coffee value chains. Job Summary: The Project Manager will be responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of sustainability projects, ensuring they are completed within scope and budget. The role involves coordinating resources, managing project documentation, and building relationships with clients, funders, and stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand all aspects of projects, including plans, contracts, and budgets.
- Deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for project execution.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Create and manage comprehensive project documentation.
- Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
- Build and manage relationships with clients, funders, and stakeholders.
- Support field teams on project planning, reporting, performance, and budgeting.
- Develop new project scopes and objectives, ensuring feasibility.
- Foster a culture supporting entrepreneurial project management.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, business administration, sociology, or a related discipline. A master’s degree is desirable.
- Minimum of six years of proven experience as a project manager in the agricultural sector.
- Solid technical background with hands-on experience in sustainability projects in agriculture.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail with strong leadership, management, and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet timelines.
- Experience with the implementation of international certification standards.
- Skills in data gathering, information compilation, report preparation, and presentation.
