The Department of Biochemistry has a lean on Medical Biochemistry. The research interests of the staff are on biomarkers of infectious (Malaria, Diarrhoea, HIV, TB) and chronic (Diabetes, hypertension, cancer) diseases and nutrition. We also have strong interest in the genetic basis of inherited diseases. The Department is endowed with ultramodern equipments for research in molecular biology in particular, which has facilitated our efforts at collaborating with our partners with similar research focus and for postgraduate training. We have strong partnerships with both local and international institutions and welcome any enquiries for postgraduate training and research partnerships.
