Job Title:          Project Assistant (Fresher Jobs)

About US:

The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities has secured a grant from the Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF) to support a three year Handicrafts and Souvenir Development Project in Uganda. The main objective of the Project is to support the development of the sector through product development, increased production and export. The project will also facilitate the creation of linkages between the producers, associations and the traders of handcrafted products and the tourism industry with a view of improving the livelihoods for some communities in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Arrange field visits, appointments and meetings both internal and external related to the project activities.
  • Support the preparations of project workplans and operational and financial planning processes
  • Assist in the preparation of payments requests for operational expenses, salaries, insurance.
  • In coordination with the project M&E officer, monitor project activities, budget and financial expenditures
  • Provide support to Consultants on all aspects of allowances, travel claims and other financial matters.
  • Contribute to the preparation and implementation of progress reports
  • Maintain project filing and Prepare routine correspondence and memoranda for Project Coordinator’s signature
  • Carryout routine day to day project office support

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate should hold an Honors’ degree in Economics, Statistics, or Social Sciences
  • At least two years  of experience in data collection and analysis
  • Computer knowledge (Microsoft package and Statistical packages)
  • Candidates should have Competences in analytical skills, communications skills and good organizational skills
  • Experience in working with a project and Government/private sector setting will be an added advantage
  • Age: 22– 30 years
