Job Summary: Sama is looking for an Employee Engagement Associate to join our growing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Engagement Team.
As the Employee Engagement Associate, you will support in driving Employee Engagement Initiatives for the Global Service Delivery (GSD) teams through developing draft Internal Communications Plans, organizing logistics for special programs and supporting employee recognition programming throughout the employee lifecycle to cultivate inclusion and belonging, ensure equitable internal practices, and support diversity across our sites in Uganda. You will work closely with Key Internal Stakeholders to deliver communications and programming on a broad spectrum of Employee Engagement priorities and focus on their delivery for maximum employee experience.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Engagement Programming
- Create the employee engagement plan and conduct projects to increase employee involvement and motivation.
- Host frequent project-level town halls (With relevant stakeholders)
- Identify and plan actions around Employee Engagement needs.
- Identify Employee Engagement Ambassadors to deliver on team based engagement.
- Interpret employee voice data.
- Host employee listening interviews/focus groups.
- Gather, analyze and present key employee engagement metrics to help support the delivery of key initiatives and prepare reports for key stakeholders in a timely fashion.
- Employee Engagement surveys – Help drive efforts related to using data and survey outcomes to identify & build action plans with the most valuable themes and stories to help our teams improve engagement and experience within GSD.
Logistics and Event Planning
- Coordinate with Vendors, Suppliers, Finance and Purchasing/Admin. team for potential company promotional items for Employee Engagement projects within a given budget.
- Plan logistics for events.
Internal Communications
- Develop communication efforts around a broad range of employee engagement activities.
- Content Development; draft compelling content across all internal communication channels including, emails, e-newsletters and Internal announcements.
- Support Internal Storytelling opportunities (Employee profiling, Awards and Recognition)
- Create and deliver high quality creative communication (Visual, graphic design) material/content through your own work and working through others in the team.
- Support other departments in hyping up their announcements/communications.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and PR; Business Operations
- Two years of experience in Internal Communication/People Operations Teams.
- Preferred experience in supporting the development of engagement campaigns from ground up.
- Experience of creating impactful multimedia content including using programs such as canva and in-design.
- Experience in working as part of a creative team; briefing and working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver work programs across different areas of responsibility.
- Experience in measuring engagement with a range of Internal Communications tools and techniques (Survey Monkey)
- Demonstrable stakeholder engagement skills across all levels.
- First class writing and Communication skills.
- A robust, confident and can do attitude.
