About RSCE:
The RSCE is a key component of the United Nations, offering transactional administrative functions such as human resources, finance, personnel and cargo transport, and ICT support to its client entities.
Job Summary:
The Driver role is crucial in providing safe, reliable, courteous, and discreet ground transportation services for various stakeholders of the RSCE. This position involves transporting officials, staff, and visitors, handling airport formalities, staying informed about local conditions, and maintaining vehicles.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safely transport authorized clients, including RSCE and UN staff, officials, and visitors.
- Assist with visa and customs formalities at the airport when required.
- Remain informed about local road conditions, Safety and Security updates, event schedules, and weather.
- Properly operate and maintain assigned UN vehicles.
- Ensure timely maintenance and servicing of vehicles.
- Keep accurate records of vehicle use and report incidents as per SOPs.
- Participate in logistical activities for RTCC events.
- Assist with office tasks like filing, mail distribution, and collection.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Valid national driving license (classes B, C, D).
- Knowledge of driving rules, regulations, chauffeur protocol, and local roads is desirable.
- Technical training as Motor Vehicle Technician (National Technician Certificate or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Minimum of two years of driving experience with a safe record.
- Experience in an international organization, NGO, embassy, or UN operation is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic mechanics and electronics is desirable.
- Fluency in oral and written English. Knowledge of another UN language is a plus.
