Job Summary: The Community Liaison Officer will mobilize, sensitize and train members of the community about Kray products and services. He/she will be a direct link between the community, the relevant authorities and Kray head office.
The incumbent must be a self-starter, must be able to work without direct supervision, have excellent time management and communication skills. The incumbent must have and be able to use a smartphone.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Community sensitization and enrollment onto Kray service platform
- Facilitate the smooth liaison between the district, sub county, town council, parish and all other local council authorities
- Set up and organize mobilization meetings and trainings for prospective and already existing Kray customers.
- Maintain detailed and accurate record of meetings including agendas, meeting minutes, follow-up/action points. Details of meeting held or cancelled should also be maintained;
- Deliver all customer documents to head office within 14 days from sign up and well as from both external and internal parties to respective stakeholders.
- Ensure that follow up of document approvals by concerned authorities is done timely and consistently and keep the head office updated as required;
- Ensure that communities are kept abreast of the product developments and communication channels remain open with the communities
- Respond to community concerns by ensuring that they are brought to the attention of Kray and facilitate the process of resolving the issue;
- Responsible for ensuring all company documents and records are maintained;
- Report to the responsible Manager on a daily and weekly basis on community issues and the project’s performance in relation to those issues
- Keep up with the weekly and daily developments of the project;
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Diploma or Bachelor Degree in relevant field e.g. Economics/ Development Studies /Social administration, Microfinance
- Prior working experience in communication and liaison, interpreting/translation related fields is an added advantage
- Excellent knowledge of both written and oral English and Luganda is desirable
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction;
- Capable of working with others in a participatory and capacity building manner;
- Ability to establish and maintain excellent contacts with colleagues, government officials, community representatives and contractors
- Slf-motivated, versatile and adaptable to different cultures and people;
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work schedules;
- Strong community liaison, mobilization and negotiation skills required;
- Working knowledge of MS Office Applications required;
- Fluent in both oral and written English;
- Good analytical skills; resourcefulness, initiative, maturity of judgment;
- Strong communications skills and ability to work with a team to achieve organizational goals;
- Good negotiation skills, and the ability to bring consensus amongst people
