The United States Embassy in Kampala, Uganda has enjoyed diplomatic relations with Uganda for over 30 years. Ambassador Deborah R. Malac currently heads the U.S Mission to Uganda. The Mission is composed of several offices and organizations all working under the auspices of the Embassy and at the direction of the Ambassador.
Among the offices operating under the U.S Mission to Uganda are:

- Centers for Disease Control (CDC)

Job Summary: The Travel Supervisor acts as Point of Contact for all Travel Manager, E2 Solutions and travel regulation issues. Provides recommendations and advice to travelers, including USG direct hires, on travel arrangements and entitlements. Reviews travel authorizations for all agencies subscribed to ICASS Travel Services to ensure compliance with travel regulations. Coordinates with the Travel Agent/Contractor to ensure travel related permissions/formalities are adhered to. Works with the contract Travel Agent/Contractor to ensure that tickets are issued in a timely manner. Prepares travel authorizations and vouchers for selected US Mission employees and certain types of travel. Maintains appropriate contacts with travel vendors. Coordinates with relevant staff to ensure that the travel needs of Mission visitors (including 100s of VIPs per year) are appropriately serviced. Resolves all travel voucher rejections in E-2 as well as rejections when E-2 authorizations and vouchers interface with the accounting system (RFMS/M). Tracks delinquent travel vouchers and outstanding travel advances and facilitates the closing of delinquent travel advances in E2 Solutions. Performs occasional travel voucher examination duties.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

- The applicants for the United States US Embassy Travel Supervisor job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or finance
- At least three years of progressively responsible in accounting and business management field where the incumbent deals with customers with one year of supervisory experience is required.
- Working knowledge of standard accounting policies and procedures regarding advances and accounting for advances, working knowledge of internal controls.
- One should have knowledge of local and international travel rules and regulations.
- Interact with tact and diplomacy with all levels of Mission personnel
- Articulate complex issues both orally and in writing
- Interpret and apply technical regulations
- Work in a pressurized environment
- Meet deadlines
- Computer literacy i.e. proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access
- Work independently on routine matters.
- Language: Level IV English (fluent written, spoken and reading) and Level III Luganda (good working knowledge written, spoken and reading) is required. (This may be tested)
