Job Summary: The management accountant will be responsible for providing the business with an insightful, accurate and timely business analysis that creates maximum value for clients and the organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to key parts of the organizational financial management strategy.
- Take a lead role in budget development, budgetary control, forecasting, financial modelling; defining the key financial performance metrics of major cost and profit centres in the organization.
- Periodically generate analytical financial performance reports for the management team and other internal stakeholders, considering cost and profit centres. Monitor budget performance and major variances thereof and recommend ways to improve our financial performance.
- Take a lead in the preparation of the annual financial statements in accordance with company and other statutory requirements, liaising with external auditors to prepare annual audits.
- Work with department heads to develop feasible financial proposals for existing products, services and projects as well as for new client solutions.
- Design and implement, financial systems, policies, procedures and controls that ensure adherence to best financial and risk management practices.
- Analyze and advise management on alternative courses of financing and investment decisions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, Business Administration (Accounting/Finance option), or a relevant field.
- A Professional qualification in CPA/ACCA is a must.
- At least Seven (7) years progressively similar work experience in a commercial environment.
- Demonstrable experience in budget development, costing and policy development.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within deadlines while delivering high quality work.
- Solution oriented with a high sense of attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Knowledge of the health supply chain and project financing is an added advantage.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to simplify complex processes and present ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office suite applications.
