Baylor-Uganda is a private not for profit child health and development organization providing family¬centered pediatric HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services, health professional training, and clinical research in Uganda. The organization operates in over 13 districts in Uganda.
The successful candidate will join a team of highly talented staff working to move the organization to greater heights and should be ready to work with minimal or no supervision.
Job Summary: The Project Manager will initiate, develop and monitor the implementation of systems, policies and procedures for the HIV/TB Pediatric/Adolescent Fort Portal ACE program in line with Baylor Uganda’s mission and the National program objectives for Pediatric/adolescent HIV/TB management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships and networks with district key stakeholders and other partner organizations for a sustained HIV/TB response
- Provide oversight and coordinate the technical assistance teams
- Develop and support the districts to monitor the implementation of annual and quarterly consolidated work plans and budgets in line with district led programming and project goals/ objectives
- Provide technical support to the districts in developing district HIV plans, budgets.
- Monitor the implementation and integration of high impact interventions to achieve HIV epidemic control in the region
- Develop and monitor implementation of the capacity building programs to maintain competent & motivated teams
- Develop and implement strategies to increase demand forservices and community engagement in health services
- Plan and conduct periodic project review/lesson learnt meetings/ based on the set and agreed upon periodic targets and develop action plans for improvement in line with district led programming and project objectives
- Provide technical guidance to the Regional Referral Hospital (RRH) to develop a regional QI committee for sustenance of quality improvement projects in the supported districts and health facilities
- Design strategies in collaboration with the districts and other key stakeholders for the sustainability of RRH epidemic control response.
- Disseminate key project outcomes and findings/ lessons learnt to inform programming
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant must hold a Master’s degree in Medicine or public health with a background of a degree in MBChB/MD and registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
- The candidate should have at least seven (7) years of experience in managing health projects with a reputable local or international NGO at management level, and direct experience with local governance and donor representatives. Experience in HIV/AIDS and ART is must. Have excellent writing and communication skills, negotiation skills and flexible.
- Ever presented in conferences or published; and,
- Skills in resource mobilization
