About Us:
The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is an international non-profit organization which is a partnership of infectious diseases and public health specialists. The overall objective of the IDI is to strengthen health systems with strong emphasis on Infectious Diseases, through Research and Capacity Development. IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University – John Hopkins University Core Lab) and Outreach.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out a comprehensive evaluation of IDI supply chain, logistics and warehouse management benchmarking with standard market practices
- Produce a report recommending improvements/ changes to the current systems with consideration to the areas of forecasting, fulfillment, purchasing, storage and distribution.
- Provide technical support to the development of the Procurement Web Application
- Develop a Logistics and warehouse Policy
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold an advanced university degree from a recognized academic institution in one of the following areas: Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Warehouse management.
- Must have a CIPS Uganda membership.
- Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in supply/logistics management.
- Ability to work strategically to realize organizational goals, develop strategies, set clear visions.
- Ability to persuade and influence, negotiate to obtain agreement, promote ideas.
- Strong understanding of an automated supply chain process
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, from programme needs assessment, and in the context of risk management
- Strong interpersonal skills, with experience of working in multicultural environments
