Job Summary: The Network Administrator will mainly maintain a reliable, secure, efficient data communications network and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operations and to foster the enhancement of business processes through technology in line with the Bank business plan and ICT policy.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the installation, configuration, upgrading and updating of software and hardware security, patches and upgrading of logical and physical security to all the Bank’s systems/equipment and log storage.
- Monitor servers and applications for errors and performance/security problems.
- Implement and manage Routers, Switches and other Hardware and Network devices.
- Manage Bandwidth and Load balancing.
- Monitor system resource usage and changes in user access rights in terms of security.
- Co-ordinate end of period processing, system and data back-up processes and archiving of data.
- Provide innovative, workable solutions to a wide range of technical and user problems in line with interdepartmental Service Level Agreements.
- Implement and monitor intrusion attack attempts/data theft attempts and deletion and data loss and unauthorised access to Bank Infrastructure.
- Monitor the IT network for violations and attacks in line with IT Security Policy
- Test the effectiveness of the security safeguards in place and prepare and test the IT disaster recovery plan (DRP) in line with the IT security policy.
- Draw up a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) for IT systems and carryout an IT system Risk Assessment and produce a report for management in line with Basel II Capital accord.
- Develop and co-ordinate the implementation of IT Security awareness program to all staff and contracts in line with HR and IT Security policies.
- Ensure appropriate Proxy servers and firewalls are in place and monitor all the logs.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicants for the Orient Bank Network Administrator job placement must hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or Degree in any field plus postgraduate qualification in IT/Computer Science
- Three years of demonstrated experience in IT systems & Security administration.
- Knowledge of CISCO routers, switches,
- Linux/Solaris Operating systems is a must.
- Knowledge of network design and topologies.
- Physical Network cabling.
- Implementation and generation of uptime reports through Solar winds / Cacti.
- Understanding of Group policies and Active directory structure
- Understanding of Back up and data recovery procedures
- Understanding of System development cycles
- Knowledge on Check point & pal alto Firewalls/proxies.
- Understanding of Network scanners/ vulnerability assessment tools.
